GST on international traveler

for those who love to travel overseas including myself , be alerted on GST implementation on goods that we are bringing in .

people travel abroad more than 72 hours returned to Malaysia , at the time of entry , goods are excluded for GST are stated as :

1. liquor not more than 1 liter
2. cigarettes not more than 200 sticks 
3. clothing not more than 3 sets 
4. shoe not more than a pair 
5. electronic devices not more than a piece 
6. foods item not more than 75 ringgit 
7. except the above item , total expenses not more than 400 ringgit (including souvenir and gift) . if from duty free area ex. Labuan , Langkawi and Tioman , total expenses not more than 500 ringgit 
8. travel abroad more than 72 hours are excluded for consumption taxes 

criteria that excluded from paying GST on arrival : 

1. travel abroad more than 72 hours 
2. total expenses lesser than the amount stated 

criteria that need to pay for GST on arrival : 

1. travel abroad less than 72 hours 
2. travel abroad more than 72 hours but total expenses are exceeded the amounts stated  

1st April was supposed to be April Fool Day for everyone but it's Happy GST Day for every Malaysian this year
